Women’s World Match Racing September 23rd

The US team in the Women’s World Match Racing championship gained an early lead on September 23rd.


There were three women’s matches that started off at Sheboygan on September 23rd. These included the Women’s World Match Racing championship, 2016 WIM series and the Buddy Melges Challenge. All three competitions started off on September 23rd. About 12 or more flights have sailed the waters and Stephanie Robie, a Wisconsinite has taken the lead. She currently leads her team in Lake Michigan. She stated that the first matches were fun and close sailing for them.

There had been delay in starting the matches previously as there had been no wind and with fog conditions. The sailors were put to the test as they wandered about the shore, waiting for wind and waves to happen. The morning of 23rd September was beautiful as the sun rose clear and there was a northerly breeze.
